Taupo Urban Retreat provides travellers with a comfortable place to rest their weary, adventurous heads.

For over 14 years, owners CJ and Kerry have been actively involved in the daily running of the hostel, making sure you guys have an awesome stay. Their involvement has enabled them to understand what backpackers want and need, allowing constant development of the hostel and services — so they can offer the best available in Taupo. So, if you do get the chance to meet them during your stay, then make sure to say hi!

Striving to make sure our guests feel welcome and at home, we believe that nothing is too much trouble. As well as making your stay as comfortable as possible, our awesome team can take care of your travel plans by booking your Taupo activities and onwards travel at no extra charge. Taupo and the surrounding areas have so much to offer and we are more than happy to share our ideas, tips and local knowledge to ensure you have a blast during your stay.
